Englewood company to expand to Port Charlotte

Englewood-based Hi-Tech Integrated Systems Inc. has opened a new office in Port Charlotte and may expand into other markets.

As a preferred full service retailer for DISH, Hi-Tech offers TV and Internet services to more than 2,000 active subscribers in Englewood, according to company president Richie Oliva.

Oliva, a 26-year Charlotte County resident, has been looking to expand for a while, he says.

The new location opens Saturday, March 30, at the Port Charlotte Town Center mall at 1441 Tamiami Trail. Expansion to another market could be in four to five months, Oliva said.

“We decided to go in the mall because of the traffic,” Oliva said. “I like to help build the community and keep it local.”

The Englewood company has six employees and the Port Charlotte office will be adding three to four.

Oliva attributes his success to evolving technology and competitive prices.

“We have technology like the Hopper which offers high definition digital video recorder and Sling technology that allows you to watch TV anywhere like your smartphone, tablet and laptop,” Oliva said.

The technology allows viewers to record and skip commercials.

DISH introduced DishNet in March 2012, which is faster than DSL, according to Oliva.

“We’ve converted a number of Comcast and Direct TV subscribers,” he said.

Hi-Tech won the DISH Network Retailer Excellence Award for Showroom and Tradeshow Retailer of the Year at a national trade conference in 2011 attended by 2,500 DISH Network authorized retailers.
