Promotional video introduces Englewood

ENGLEWOOD — The Englewood-Cape Haze Area Chamber of Commerce is looking to put its best foot forward with its new introductory video.

Creative Motions, a Tampa-based video production company, shot the promotional video. As the video starts, you may see the prevailing themes of the area in bold capital letters, “Sunshine, beach, water, nature, golf and food” before it cuts to a map of Florida showing major cities and where Englewood is between Sarasota and Punta Gorda.

“One thing that I believe is an issue, usually the promotional materials tends to be centered on major metropolitan areas,” said Don Musilli, interim executive director of the chamber.

Playing behind catchy exotic music in the background, the video continues to a series of random point-of-view cuts of activities with kayaking, hiking, collecting shells, paddleboarding, boating, golfing and dining.

The video can be seen at http://www.englewoodchamber.com   and Musilli said the plan is to provide it on DVD to any chamber member who wants to use it for promotional purposes.

“Chamber Realtors may benefit if they want to sell a new home (to a future resident),” he said.

Musilli said there are other plans in the works to promote and increase Englewood’s visibility, like creating informative and directional signs to Englewood.

“I always say Englewood is a hard place to find, but a great place to live,” Musilli said.
