ENGLEWOOD — It’s tee-off time at the Lemon Bay Gulf Club and entrants can win big. The West Charlotte County Republican Club is hosting its fifth annual golf outing at 9 a.m. July 27 at the club on 9600 Eagle Preserve Drive, in Englewood.
“Last year, we had 111 players,” said Ray Corcoran, club president who started the outings. “This year on one of the par 3s, we’ll have a $10,000 cash prize for a hole-in-one.”
Among other prizes to be given away include a caddy golf cart, a $500 Visa gift card, a set of Cleveland Iron golf clubs and various door prizes.
Corcoran said they’re capping the number of players at 120 and professionals will not qualify for the hole-inone prizes. Amateurs are encouraged to sign up.
Entry is $50 until July 20, and $55 afterward. The max handicap for men is 28, women 32. Team play will be in a shamble format. Continental breakfast will be served. Checks can be made payable to WCCRC and mailed to P.O. Box 271, Placida, FL 33946.
